Nilson was a Brazilian band that formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1972. The group included vocalist Luiz Ayrão, guitarist Waly Salomão, bassist Zé Luiz, drummer Luiz Paulo, and keyboardist Cláudio Venturini. They put out their first album in 1976, which had the song 'Deixa Rolar' on it.
In the late 1970s, some of their music was censored by the military government. Ayrão and Salomão later left the band after dealing with drug addiction.
Nilson kept recording into the 1980s, but their popularity faded over time. They're still remembered for 'Deixa Rolar' and that early lineup.
