Nilson Costa came up in Salvador, Bahia, where his father was a guitarist. He started releasing music in the early 1970s, and his song 'O Grande Amor da Minha Vida' became a national hit in Brazil around 1973.
His work leaned toward romantic ballads, with another notable track being 'Amor Perdido.' He recorded several albums through the 1970s and into the 1980s, including 'Canções de Amor' and 'Seresta.'
Costa collaborated with other Brazilian artists like Caetano Veloso and Gal Costa. He kept recording into the 2000s, putting out an acoustic album in 2002.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
