Nilson & Nelson were a Brazilian duo from Rio de Janeiro. Nilson de Souza Pereira played guitar, and Nelson da Silva handled vocals. They started playing together in the late 1960s, working in small venues and festivals when record labels weren't interested in their mix of samba, bossa nova, and rock.
Their debut album 'Horizonte de Sonhos' came out in 1977. Another song people remember is 'Nossa Senhora das Águas'.
Some of their material got flagged by government censors during that period, and a few songs were kept off the radio. They kept writing and performing anyway, which gave their music a certain edge for listeners who were paying attention.
