Ninel Conde started as a child actress in Mexico before moving into music in the late 1990s. She signed with Fonovisa Records and put out her self-titled debut album in 1999. The next year, her second album 'El Bombón Asesino' gave her a breakthrough with its title track, which became a hit in Mexico.
Her music often mixes pop with cumbia and banda styles, heard in songs like 'Bombon Asesino (Cumbia)' and 'Cuando Me Vaya De Tu Lado'. She's also recorded tracks such as 'No Me Veras' and 'Alma Rebelde'. Conde has faced some public criticism over her stage outfits and dance moves, and in 2011 she was briefly arrested on tax evasion accusations.
She's released several albums since, including 'Todo lo que Soy' in 2003 and 'Libre' in 2014. The nickname 'El Bombón Asesino' stuck with her from that early hit.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
