Niska is the stage name of Stanislas Dinga Pinto, a French rapper born in 1994 in Évry. He came up listening to French rap mainstays like Booba and La Fouine. His debut album 'Charo Life' arrived in 2015, and the track 'Freestyle PSG' helped it climb to number two on the French charts.
His second album, 'Zifukoro', came out the following year and really broke through. It featured 'Salé', a single that became a major hit. He's worked with other artists in the scene, including Gims and MHD. His discography includes albums like 'Commando' from 2017, 'Mr. Sal' from 2019, and 'Le monde est méchant' from 2021.
Some of his songs, like 'Mr Sal' and 'Réseaux', continue that direct, rhythmic style. His music often draws from life in the banlieues, the suburbs outside major French cities. In 2017, he faced legal issues when he was arrested in connection with a robbery investigation; the charges were eventually dropped. His lyrics have sometimes been criticized for their content, but they've also found a strong audience, particularly among younger listeners in France.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
