Archive material and source history
Nitidez formed in Porto Alegre, Brazil in the early 1990s with Frank Jorge on vocals and guitar, André Jung on bass, and Marcelo Birck on drums. Their debut album 'Escuta' came out in 1993, featuring the title track that became something of an anthem. They followed it with 'Mais do Mesmo' in 1995, 'Paradoxo' in 1997, and '4' in 2001.
Their lyrics sometimes drew attention, like with the song 'Vaca Profana' that addressed political and social issues. The band broke up in 2006 after some internal disagreements.
