Nitroboys formed in Rio de Janeiro during the 1980s, with Leandro Lehart on vocals, Kadu Brandão on guitar, Fabio Marx on bass, and Juba on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1988 and included the song 'Tarde Demais,' which became a staple of Brazilian rock radio.
After some lineup changes and a period of lower visibility, the band regrouped with its original members in the 2000s and returned to touring. They kept recording, with tracks like '3 Meses Depois' and 'Festa De Verão' appearing in their later sets.
Their sound was straightforward hard rock, and they built a following through steady live shows rather than dramatic reinvention. The music holds up because it's direct, songs like 'Previsível' and 'Direto das Estrelas' don't try to be more than what they are.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
