The Nitrogods formed in the early 2000s in Minneapolis. Their debut album 'Ignite the Fire' came out in 2004, with the single 'At Least I'm Drunk' getting some radio play and chart attention. The song's straightforward rock sound and self-deprecating lyrics connected with listeners.
They put out several more albums through the 2000s, including 'Fuel the Fury' in 2006 and 'The Devil's Due' in 2010. Songs like 'Gasoline' and 'The Devil Dealt The Deck' kept to their hard-rock style while occasionally pulling from other genres. The lineup shifted over time, with frontman Rick Johnson and bassist Jake Wilson staying through most of it.
By the late 2010s, the band had gone through some internal changes and member departures. They announced a reformation in 2019, though the details were sparse.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
