Foreign automobiles,

So the kids are safe,

Leather hands on the wheel.

For porcelain plates,

Beg and borrow and steal.

It’s not what you make,

But what makes you real.

So ain’t it strange

To spend all your days

Watering a seed,

Just hoping it bears your face?

No one complains

When the weather is warm

Must be okay

If there’s nothing wrong.

It takes a plane,

A bomb, or a baby,

To wake you up

When you’re lost in the lobby.

So, why we birth?

Why we look harder

To find a womb

To fill with a daughter?

Or make a son

With a girl that’s forever?

You met her in high school,

Said you would die together.

You work harder

Just to get closer

But all of the days that you wasted away
