Archive material and source history
Normandia formed in 2011 in Ericeira, a seaside town in Portugal. The band's original lineup included Vasco Ribeiro on vocals, João Couto on guitar, Pedro Branco on bass, and Ivo Costa on drums. They started playing small venues around that time.
Their 2013 song "Ainda Hei De Estar" became their breakthrough track. The album of the same name followed that year. Other songs like "Longa Estrada" and "Se Perder" also gained attention. They've released several albums since, including Impermanência in 2016, O Sol e a Lua in 2018, and Contracorrente in 2020.
In 2018, there were some plagiarism claims about "O Sol e a Lua," but the band denied them and the matter was resolved. The lineup has stayed mostly the same since they started.
