North formed in Finland around 2015, with Jonne Järvelä handling vocals and Tuomas Saukkonen on guitar. They later added bassist Jukka Koskinen and drummer Janne Peltonen. Their music tends toward dark, atmospheric soundscapes that pull from metal and alternative rock, with Järvelä's vocals often soaring over the arrangements.
