Not By Choice formed in the early 2000s with Ryan Key on vocals and guitar, Andrew Goldstein on bass, and Anthony SanFilippo on drums. Their debut album came out in 2005, and the single 'Here With Me' got some attention. Goldstein left the band in 2007, but Key and SanFilippo kept going.
They put out a few more albums like 'Now or Never' in 2008 and 'The Things You Can't See' in 2011. Songs like 'Tongue Tied' and 'Days Go By' show their straightforward pop-rock style. Some of their music ended up on TV shows like 'The O.C.' and 'Scrubs'.
