Not Tonight Josephine

Not Tonight Josephine was a Swedish pop band from Malmö that formed in 1996 around singer Nina Persson and guitarist Christoffer Lundquist. Their debut single 'All That She Wants' became a massive hit in 1999, reaching number one in multiple countries. The song's synth-driven melody and straightforward rhythm made it an international radio staple.

Their self-titled debut album came out the same year, followed by two more studio records: 'Venus & Mars' in 2002 and 'Accelerate' in 2006. Another track, 'Sunshine,' also appeared among their more recognizable songs. The band's sound generally worked with pop structures while leaving room for some experimental touches in the arrangements.

Persson's direct approach to lyrics and performance sometimes drew attention beyond the music itself. The band's activity trailed off after their third album, leaving behind a handful of songs that still get played when people remember late-90s pop.
