Archive material and source history
Nota formed in 1997 when three friends from Santiago's La Cisterna neighborhood, Pablo Lecaros, Andrés Landon, and Denisse Malebrán, started playing covers together. Their debut album 'Pirotecnia' came out in 2002 and connected with Chilean youth, particularly through the song 'Y Si Pedimos Comida Italiana?' which became something of an anthem.
They followed with albums like 'Siempreviva' in 2005 and 'Lo Que Nunca Fue' later on. In 2009, their fourth album 'Pan y Circo' drew attention for its critical perspective on government and media.
Nota's outspoken views on Chilean society sometimes put them at odds with critics and authorities. In 2007, they faced plagiarism accusations over a melody similarity with a Colombian song, which they denied.
