Novaments formed in São Paulo in 2014 with Kimani on vocals and guitar, Leo Leite on bass and vocals, Rafa Britto on guitar, and Gustavo Almeida on drums. Their debut single "Acredite Em Mim" came out in 2017, and they've released four studio albums since then: their self-titled debut in 2017, "Se Essa Rua Fosse Minha" in 2019, "CRASH" in 2021, and "Santos de Casa" in 2023.
Their music draws from alternative rock, samba, and hip-hop, with later work incorporating electronica and funk.
In 2018, they faced criticism for using indigenous imagery in album artwork and issued a public apology. They've continued touring and recording since, maintaining a presence in Brazilian music without the dramatic claims sometimes attached to their story.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
