Novas Sementes formed in Brazil during the early 1980s, with Paulo Marinho on vocals and guitar, Pedro Osmar on bass, Luiz Carlos Salmeron on keyboards, and Celso de Almeida on drums. Their first album, 'Negra, É,' came out in 1985 and included the song 'Ao Ente Querido,' which Marinho wrote.
That song, 'Ao Ente Querido,' became widely known in Brazil. It's a ballad with a melody that sticks with you and lyrics that felt personal to many listeners at the time.
They put out a few more records after that, like 'O Canto das Sereias' in 1987 and a self-titled album in 1994. The group stopped playing together for a while in the 2000s but got back together for some shows around 2012.
