Nove Mil Anjos formed in Brasília in the late 1980s around vocalist Rodolfo Abrantes. Their debut album 'Infinito Particular' came out in 1990 and got them noticed nationally. The band's sound wasn't easy to pin down, mixing progressive rock with folk and ambient textures.
They kept recording through the 1990s and early 2000s, putting out albums like 'Orquídea Negra' and 'Jardim Elétrico'. Other songs people remember include 'A Ilha' and 'Ainda há Tempo'.
Flávio Venâncio was another core member alongside Abrantes. The group released seven studio albums total before things wound down.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
