Numenorean

Numenorean took their name from the fictional island in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, which gives you a sense of the territory they're working in. They formed in 2004, and their 2011 album 'Adore' became a significant release for them, anchored by the title track. That song, along with others like 'Regret' and 'Coma', established their sound within heavy metal, often leaning into themes of introspection.

In 2013, the band faced criticism over an album cover that some found exploitative, which became a point of public discussion. They continued releasing music after that, putting out albums in 2017 and 2021. Their work includes songs like 'Devour' and 'Alone', maintaining a focus on atmospheric and often somber compositions.
