Nyusha Shurochkina grew up in a musical family in Moscow. Her father Vladimir was a singer-songwriter, and her mother Irina had been a vocalist. At fourteen, she put out her first single, 'Vozvrasheniye' ('Return'), and not long after, 'Gde ty, tam ya' ('Where You Are, There I Am') became a major hit across Russia.
She has released five studio albums, starting with 'Vybirat chudo' in 2010 and including 'Obeschaniye', 'Neobiknovennoye', 'Neobidimoe', and 'Solnechny zaitchik' in 2019. Other songs like 'Chudo', 'Bol'no', and 'Nebo znaet' have also been popular. In 2017, there were some public allegations of plagiarism around her song 'Ne boysia' ('Don't Be Afraid'), which she denied.
Nyusha has worked with other artists occasionally, like the Israeli singer Eliad Cohen on the track 'Sny' ('Dreams'), and with producer RedOne and rapper ST. Her music tends to blend pop with R&B and electronic elements.
