O Astro do Forró is a Brazilian forró band led by vocalist Pedro Henrique dos Santos. They formed in Fortaleza, Ceará, and released their debut album 'O Som do Povo' in 2018. The group includes accordionist Roberto Junior, zabumba player Marcone Oliveira, and keyboardist Edivaldo Santana.
Their music draws from traditional forró influences like Luiz Gonzaga and Jackson do Pandeiro while incorporating elements of sertanejo and baião. Songs like 'Pop Star' and 'Garota Problema' show their blend of classic forró rhythms with contemporary touches. They followed their debut with albums 'Nosso Jeito' in 2020 and 'O Melhor do Forró' in 2022.
In 2021, the band faced a legal dispute over rights to their song 'A Vez Do Amar.' Other tracks in their catalog include 'Na Onda Do Black,' 'Pagode Russo,' and 'Cowboy Brasileiro.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
