A São Paulo trio that mixed experimental rock with Brazilian textures in the late 1990s.
For a quick sense of their sound, 'Bicho de 7 Cabeças' is the obvious starting point. 'Sétimo Céu' and 'Lição de Zoo' are good follow-ups.
They were one of those bands that felt like they were working in their own lane, especially in the late '90s Brazilian scene. 'Bicho de 7 Cabeças' became a genuine underground hit in 1997, and songs like 'Sétimo Céu' and 'Lição de Zoo' show how they could be both melodic and a little unhinged. Their live shows had a reputation for being immersive, even if some of the language around them sounds like standard concert hype.
They formed in 1996 around Maurício Pereira, Luis Antonio, and Fabio Lessa. Their self-titled debut came out in 1997, followed by 'Psicopata' in 2000 and 'Efêmero' in 2005.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
