O Barco, a Ponte e o Sótão formed in Cascais in 2007 with three members: Luís Lourenço on vocals and guitar, Miguel Jerónimo on drums, and Ricardo Pessoa on bass. They released their first album 'Primavera' in 2009, but it was their 2012 album 'Ela Disse' that brought them wider attention. The title track from that album became their most recognizable song.
They kept releasing albums through the 2010s, including 'Setembro' in 2015 and 'Amanhã' in 2018, followed by an acoustic album in 2021. Their sound mixed folk and rock elements with lyrics that often dealt with personal themes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
