O Brilho da Noite formed in São Paulo in 2012 with Maria Lucia on vocals, Pedro Henrique on guitar, João Paulo on bass, and Gabriel Silva on drums. They started playing small venues around the city. In 2015, they signed with the label Som Livre and released their debut album 'Sonhos e Melodias' the following year.
That first album included 'De Amor,' a ballad that became widely known in Brazil. The song's straightforward lyrics about love and heartbreak connected with listeners, helping the band find an audience beyond their local shows.
In 2018, they put out a second album called 'Retrato do Coração.' The band's activity slowed after that, with Maria Lucia facing plagiarism accusations in 2019 that led to a break from performing.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
