O Ópio was a Brazilian rock band that formed in the 1970s. Their song "A Lógica" became particularly well-known. They released albums including their self-titled debut in 1973, followed by "Tábua de Esmeralda" in 1974 and "Sinais" in 1976.
Luiz Melodia handled vocals and guitar, Antônio Pedro played drums, and Ricardo Leão was on bass.
Beyond "A Lógica," another track people remember is "Um Belo Dia." The band's recordings have stayed in circulation long after their active years, finding listeners who appreciate that particular strain of 1970s Brazilian rock.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
