O Pequeno Francisco was a Brazilian band formed by three friends: Antônio Carlos, João Carlos, and Sérgio. They took their name and inspiration from Saint Francis of Assisi, whose teachings on peace and humility shaped their music.
Their most well-known song is "Oração de São Francisco," which became something of an anthem for them. They released several albums in the late 1970s and 1980s, including "Amigos" in 1978 and "Caminhos" in 1981.
Their lyrics sometimes addressed social issues and religious themes, which occasionally sparked debate. The band's music blended folk and pop with their spiritual focus, anchored by Antônio Carlos on vocals and guitar, João Carlos on bass, and Sérgio on drums.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
