O Pimenta do Forró formed in 2003 in Brejo Santo, Ceará, when childhood friends Pedro Henrique and Anderson Silva decided to play forró together. The name translates to "The Pepper of Forró," which fits their energetic take on the traditional Northeast Brazilian style. They started playing local festivals and built a following from there.
Pedro Henrique handles lead vocals and accordion, while Anderson Silva sings and plays percussion. Their 2009 album "Estilo Namorador" gave them a song that became one of their most recognizable tracks. The band has kept recording and performing their version of forró, which leans into romantic themes and danceable rhythms.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
