O Positivo formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1990s with Renato Russo on vocals, Eduardo Souto Neto on guitar, Marcelo Lobato on bass, and Chico Martins on drums. Their debut album 'Entre Aspas' came out in 1997, and the title track became a hit that connected with listeners. They also recorded songs like 'Amanhã Talvez' and 'Tenho Que Mudar'.
Russo's struggles with addiction and mental health sometimes affected their shows. In 1996, they were accused of inciting violence during a performance, though the charges were eventually dropped.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
