OAD formed in Osaka in 2008 as a four-piece band. The group included vocalist and guitarist Takayuki Kishida, bassist and vocalist Akihiro Nakayama, drummer Yasuhiro Kato, and keyboardist Daisuke Sato. Their debut single "No One Around" came out the following year.
They released their first album "More Than Words" in 2010, followed by other albums including "Memories" in 2012 and "Love is You" in 2017. Another song of theirs is called "My Scream."
Their music has appeared in some Japanese television dramas and films.
