Obrint Pas formed in Valencia in 1993. They released their first album, "La revolta de l'ànima," in 1997. The band's lineup has included Xavi Sarrià on vocals and guitar, Miquel Gironés on bass, and Josep Nadal on drums.
Their music draws from rock and folk with Mediterranean touches. Songs like "1939" and "El Cant Dels Maulets" often address historical memory and social issues. They've worked with other musicians including Joan Manuel Serrat and Raimon.
Obrint Pas has put out nine studio albums. Their lyrics have sometimes drawn criticism for their political content, but the band has kept making music on their own terms.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
