Ocean Is Theory formed in Toronto in the early 2000s as a four-piece band. Their debut EP 'The City of Water' came out in 2003, with the title track becoming a fan favorite. They followed with albums like 'Music for the Masses' in 2006 and 'After the Fall' in 2018.

Their songs often carried an ethereal quality, from the introspective 'Oh Broken Son' to the more anthemic 'More Than Conquerors.' Lead vocalist William Artope handled much of the writing and singing.

They kept recording through it, with their self-titled album arriving in 2011.
