Archive material and source history

Ocho Y Media is an eight-piece band that started in Los Angeles around 2003. They mix cumbia, salsa, and rock, drawing from their Mexican heritage and the city's varied sounds. Their first album, simply called 'Ocho Y Media', came out in 2007.

They followed it with records like 'La Pesadilla' in 2010, 'El Viaje' in 2013, and 'La Salida' in 2017. The song 'La Pesadilla' is a slower, more haunting track that deals with fear and finding a way out of it.

The group includes Raul Rodriguez on vocals and percussion, Mario Martinez on bass, and a few other musicians. They've kept at it as an ensemble, putting out albums every few years without much fuss.
