Archive material and source history
Oddin formed in 2004 in São Paulo with João Barone on vocals, Guto Guerra on guitar, Alisson Zara on bass, and Marcel Simões on drums. They started playing local bars and festivals, mixing rock, funk, and electronic sounds. Their debut single "Aonde Eu For" came out in 2006 and got them some national attention.
Their first album, simply called "Oddin," arrived in 2007. They followed it with three more studio albums over the next decade: "No Mundo Real" in 2010, "Supernova" in 2014, and "Grandes Sucessos" in 2018. The band's lyrics sometimes addressed social and political topics, which led to some criticism and debate.
In 2010, they faced legal trouble over a song that was said to defame Brazil's president. The four original members have stayed together through the band's run, keeping the same lineup since they started.
