ODIE formed in the Pacific Northwest around the mid-2010s, with Sam Wesley on vocals, Jake O'Neil on guitar, and Emily Davis on drums. Their first album was called 'North Face,' which included the song of the same name that got some attention. They've also put out records titled 'Portraits' and 'The Garden.'
Musically, they work in a space between alternative rock and hip-hop, with some folk and electronic touches showing up later. Songs like 'Miss Summer' and 'Little Lies' have a reflective, sometimes raw quality to them. The writing tends to circle around personal themes, identity, solitude, that sort of thing.
In 2018, the band dealt with some tour-related misconduct allegations that led to a crew member being let go. They apologized publicly at the time. Beyond that, they've kept a fairly low profile, letting the music speak for itself.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
