Per l'esposizione di Roma del 1942
tutti gli artisti sono scritturati
nei vari padiglioni.
Siccome io appartengo al cosidetto
reparto Arte Varia, ed avendo gironzolato
e gironzolando sempre per il mondo,
ho avuto una missione speciale,
cioè a dire, io dovrò cantare
in genere nei padiglioni stranieri ed in
particolare in quelli estremo-orientali.
Però la commissione degli impresari mi ha
dato questo avvertimento, mi ha detto:
"Spadaro, quando voi canterete nei
padiglioni orientali, cantate pure
canzoni orientali, ma confermate
sempre uno stile romano.
Siamo a Roma e devono capir tutti"
"Giustissimo, adesso sto preparando
il repertorio. Se per esempio un giorno
riceverò il biglietto di servizio
per il padiglione cinese, io ho
preparato una canzoncina cinese
con una leggera tintarella romana.
Eccola quà"
Questa storiellina è cinese,
è successa proprio a Pechin
tra una Musmè tanto cortese
ed un Mandarino, Mandarino.
Si chiamava "Ali Mort" e lei
rispondeva al nome "Chi Senè",
si vedevan spesso, amici miei,
e un bel dì lüi disse "Ascolta me".
"Ali Mort, Ali Mort,
chi ti parla è Ali Mort".
"Taci, taci, taci", lei rispodeva,
"il tuo amor mi confonde".
"Io con te, sono un Re,
credi cara Chi Senè,
freme, freme, freme,
il mio cuor per te".
Furon visti un giorno per Shangai
dal cugino, il trence Che Tepò,
alla coppia dette molti guai
quel fatale incontro, tale incontro.
Disse lui: "Chi sei tu, uomo o pollo?"
Lui rispose: "Sono un Mandarin,
ma piuttosto tu chi sei, o geloso!"
Disse lui: "Sono il cugin".
"Io sono Che Tepò, Che Tepò,
chi ti parla è Che Tepò.
Fino a quando deve arrivar verso me
la tua gran confidenza?"
"Chi Senè, credi a me
io solo amo te, sol te".
