A California band that weathered lineup changes while keeping their heavy foundation intact.
For their early sound, try 'Mushroom Cloud'. For where they landed later, 'Back To Me' gives a good sense of it.
Listen to 'Mushroom Cloud' or 'Public Service Announcement' and you hear what they've always done well: aggressive riffs paired with cleaner vocal melodies. Even after original vocalist Austin Carlile left in 2016, songs like 'Back To Me' and 'Unbreakable' show they kept that mix of heavy and melodic elements. They've been a steady presence in the rock and metal communities, touring regularly and putting out albums like 'Earthandsky' and 'Bloom'.
They formed in Costa Mesa, California and released their debut 'This is Not a Dream' in 2011. Aaron Pauley took over lead vocals after 2016, and the band has continued releasing music, including 'Restoring Force' in 2014 and 'Bloom' in 2021.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
