They put out their first album, 'Self-Conscious Over You,' that same year. Their sound pulled from different places, mixing atmospheric synths and driving rhythms with Jobson's vocal delivery.
A song called 'Naomi' came out in 1982 and became their most recognized track. The lyrics were inspired by a story about a young woman and addiction, set against a haunting melody. It appeared on later albums like 'Heaven Is Paved with Skulls' from 1985 and 'Trust in Deception' from 1986.
The band's music didn't always fit neatly into genre expectations, and their approach drew mixed reactions at the time. They weren't together for a particularly long stretch, but the work they released in that early- to mid-80s period has kept a following.
