Oficina de Sons formed in Uberlândia in 1985 with Flávio Guimarães on guitar, Pedro Fonseca on bass, Rogério Feltrin on drums, Walter Lopes on keyboards, and Luciano Manga as vocalist. Their name translates to 'Workshop of Sounds,' which hints at their approach. The band's 1999 album 'Cantor dos Cristais' gave them one of their most recognizable songs, a ballad that became a live staple.
In 1996, Manga left the group, leading to a brief hiatus before they returned with new vocalist Juninho Afram. Their 2003 album 'Humanos' included the song 'Meu Olhar,' which drew criticism from some religious groups for its lyrics. Despite that, the album found commercial success.
They've released other albums like 'Depois da Guerra' in 2007 and 'Histórias e Bicicletas' in 2011. The current lineup includes Guimarães, Fonseca, Afram, Duca Tambasco on keyboards, and Jean Carllos on drums. Other musicians like guitarist Juninho Campos and drummer Marcelo Moreira have also played with the band.
