OGermano formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s around the Germano brothers: Gabriel on vocals and guitar, Rafael on drums, and Rodrigo on bass. Their 2002 single "Escola" connected with Brazilian youth who felt let down by the education system, and it became a radio hit.
They released albums like "Vida Real" in 2003 and "Nação Zumbi" in 2006. Their sound mixed alternative rock with Brazilian popular music, and later records brought in psychedelic touches and electronic elements. Songs like "Frank Ocean" and "Kitado de Bape" show their range beyond the early material.
Some critics questioned whether their protest music was genuine or just commercial, and they had a legal issue over a sample in the song "O Mundo." But "Escola" stayed in the culture as a kind of anthem for young people in Brazil.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
