Background notes

Archive material and source history

Oh Child formed in Denver in 2007 around vocalist Kelsey Wilson and guitarist Shawn Rosenblatt. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2009. The band's sound is rooted in indie folk, with Wilson's voice and Rosenblatt's guitar work defining their early material.

In 2011, they released the song "The Lion," which became their breakout track. The album of the same name followed that year. After Rosenblatt left in 2014, Wilson continued with new collaborator Nate Eiesland. The band has put out several albums since, including Blood & Honey in 2013 and The Mountain in 2019.
