OK ROB formed in Long Beach, California in the early 1990s, blending punk, reggae, and funk. Their 1996 album 'Sublime' gave them their breakthrough, with the title track becoming particularly well-known. The band was led by Bradley Nowell.
Nowell died of a heroin overdose in 1996. The remaining members continued with a new singer, Rome Ramirez, and released albums like 'Second-hand Smoke' in 2001 and 'Sirens' in 2009. They kept touring after Nowell's death.
Their song 'Valorizar' appears among their top tracks. The group's sound mixed different styles, which influenced some other alternative rock acts that came after them.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
