It was not what I thought it would be.

I have made my mistake,

now I come running to you

like you said I would do.

It's so hard not to hide

cause you're safe.

Now I need protection

from all the things I have made,

so I come flying to you

like you swore I would do,

but there's only a stone

in your place.

Well, they said

I needed protection from life,

but it's over now.

Give me strength,

I need resurrection again,

let it all come out.

They said "it's just minor surgery,

just one tiny scar,"

but I drove home in my car

and it seemed like so far,

and the gas needle fell

like a star.

Numbers come and they crowd me out

in a cloud above my head.

I fight each equation till it's dead,

then I put them to bed

and I paw at the hole

in my chest.

How could you let me become this?

How could you make my small bones

grow as tall as a tower?

Oh, take my power away,

to take it away.

Hold my hand as you lay me down.

Reach into that jar,

cause I am ready to restart,
