Connected In Betrayal

You are a screen,

Unto which I project

Fantasies, needs

My learned behaviour

No doubt it is hard to reach through

You, like myself, are caught

Turmoil is created, in attempts to get rid of this

We know there’s something wrong

Difficult to pinpoint

Everywhere excuses are to be found

And someone to profit off our misery

Why should real change be suggested,

If it would collapse the economy?

Still there are moments of a different reality

Shining through, it will not die!

I see with awe, a human being

More than enough to fill this emptiness….

We impose on each other

Unspoken demands

And feast in bitterness, hope and despair

We feel so connected

In this dense betrayal (connected – in – betrayal)

Of everything we are

Covered in everything we are not

We gladly add

Layer by layer

Everything which alienates us from life

We are gladly entertained

And pay greatly

For another emotional outburst so we can reassure ourselves there is still life

Still there are moments of a different reality

Shining through, it will not die!

I see with awe, a human being

More than enough to fill this emptiness….

Despair and grasping towards unrealities

I see myself playing games bound to failure

And laugh at the tripping effect of my insights

How can we truly learn

If unlearning is of utmost importance?

How can we assimilate what we thought to be ourselves

When it was not ourselves in the first place?

This was never ourselves in the first place!

But that which is dimly seen somewhere in the shadows

Can “entertain” us forever

Enthrall us forever

We can be lost in how “difficult” everything is….
