Archive material and source history
Ola Magnell was a Swedish singer-songwriter who started releasing music in the early 1970s. His debut album 'Påtalåtar' came out in 1972, followed by records like '1974' and 'Nya Perspektiv'. He wrote songs that often dealt with social themes, sometimes with a folk and jazz feel to them.
One of his best-known songs is 'Alla Håller Masken' (Everybody's Wearing a Mask), which became something of an anthem about authenticity. Other tracks like 'Anemonen', 'Blus-Blues', and 'Höstkänning' show his range from more personal reflections to bluesier numbers.
He worked with various musicians over time, including guitarist Mikael Rickfors and bassist Bengt Berger. Magnell died in 2003 at age 57, having released more than twenty albums across his career.
