Om Shanti Om is a band that formed in 2008. Their name translates to "Peace and Harmony," which gives a sense of the folk and spiritual leanings in their music. The group includes Rahul Tripathi on vocals, Ankit Tiwari on keyboards, Nikhil D'Souza on guitar, Jatin Pandit on bass, and Tushar Lall on drums.
Their debut album came out in 2010, titled after the song "Ajab Si." That track became widely popular, along with others like "Dard-E-Disco" and "Main Agar Kahoon." They followed it with albums in 2012 and 2015.
In 2016, there was some public disagreement over whether one of their songs, "Tere Bin," borrowed too much from another work. The band maintained that their composition was original.
