The group was fronted by Marcelo D2 and Dado Dolabella, with Fornalha on drums, DJ King on turntables, and Braza on percussion.
Their lyrics often had a sharp, rebellious edge that drew criticism from conservative groups. In 1999, the band was arrested and briefly jailed after a performance that authorities called obscene. They kept putting out albums through the years, including "Mundo Mágico" in 1998 and "O Que Você Quer Saber de Verdade?" in 2004.
