Archive material and source history
One Summer On came together in Liverpool around the mid-2000s. Their early lineup included Josh Franceschi on vocals and guitar, Owen Lloyd on bass, and Ru Parry on drums. Their first single, "Good Looking," came out in 2006 and got them some notice in the UK indie scene.
They put out two studio albums. The first was called "Here We Rise," and the second, "Captive," seemed to shift toward a more introspective sound. Other songs from that time include "So Begin" and "The Deacons Daughter."
Around 2008, the band got tangled in a public legal dispute with their record label over money. A couple of years later, Owen Lloyd left to work on his own material. Ru Parry followed in 2013. Josh Franceschi kept the name going, and by 2015 he was working with a new bass player.
