Absolution

Up in arms at the absence of perfection

And at the apogee, we find we're all the same

Although the source defies a name the strain is clear

Inside our rights and the contradictions

Still deciding who's entitled or to blame

To keep our heads above the shame

We rise and fall

When your faith is real, there's only so much swept away.

When I look down, whose hands come clean when we wash all our sins away?

We've got to break just to be unselfish

Forgetting how we once

Defined ourselves as one

Caught up in counting all we've won

We tear it down with the strength of our fathers' vision

Can we somehow break ourselves
