Onslaught formed in Bristol, England in 1982, part of that early thrash metal wave. They went through lineup changes like a lot of bands from that era, with Paul Di'Anno from Iron Maiden singing for them briefly.
Their 1989 album 'In Search of Sanity' had the track 'Code Black' and marked a shift for them. Songs like 'A Prayer For The Dead' and 'Flame Of The Antichrist' from their catalog show the kind of aggressive, riff-heavy approach they settled into. They took a break in the early 1990s but came back together in 2005.
Since reforming, they've put out records like 'Killing Peace' in 2007 and 'Generation Antichrist' in 2019. The band's current lineup includes Sy Keeler on vocals and founding guitarist Nige Rockett. They've kept making music in that thrash vein without much fuss about it.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
