Background notes

Archive material and source history

Onsoku Line formed in 2004 as a duo with vocalist Yui Kasahara and guitarist Masaki Kawakami. Bassist Azusa Abe and drummer Kazuya Kimura joined in 2006. Their debut album 'Melody' came out in 2007, followed by 'Love Letter' which included the song 'Koi Uta'.

'Koi Uta' became a chart-topping track for the band. Another song, 'Polaris No Namida,' also appears among their work. In 2010, Azusa Abe left and was replaced by bassist Kana Asumi.

Some critics found their lyrics about love and social issues too explicit at times. The band kept writing what they wanted anyway.
