Oora formed in 2011 around singer Johan Lindström and guitarist Jörgen Kjellgren, later adding bassist Niklas Berglöf and drummer Mattias Rodrick. Their debut EP 'Echoes' came out in 2012, followed by the album 'Without a Name' in 2014. That album's lead single 'Eviction' became a standout track for them.
Their sound shifted over the next few releases, with 2016's 'No. No. No.' taking a darker turn and 2018's 'S.O.S.' dealing with themes of isolation. Some of their music videos drew criticism for violent or disturbing imagery, which the band defended as reflecting real-world issues.
Guitarist Jörgen Kjellgren left the group in 2018. Other songs in their catalog include 'Exhibits from a New Museum' and 'Hurricane Man'.
